The current state of the Royal Childarian Navy

The RCN has been around since the 2017 War against the Child Opposers but has been given almost absolutely no previous mention on this blog whatsoever. This post hopes to introduce this forgotten force to the public and outline its importance in Childarian history.

The RCN was founded mid 2017 on the outbreak of war with the Child Opposers, first appearing as a battleship propaganda poster advertising the RCN. A single paper boat was constructed, jokingly called the Bismarck, which became the first ship in the RCN.
Although the warship itself played no part in this war the commander of the RCN, Admiral Matthew Johnson helped with the planning of Operation Vodka.
Postwar the navy was given secondary importance and the Bismarck was scrapped after it became too squashed to float properly.
However in mid 2019 at school during a metalwork class I found the discarded hull of a half-complete wooden sailing ship toy for possible conversion. And after extensive bow modifications and the addition of gun turrets and a funnel, the ship was christened the TCS FORMIDIBLE  and made the flagship of the Royal Childarian Navy.

The FORMIDABLE served well for about a year, participating in an exercise at a local river.

However, it was mothballed and then scrapped at some point last year, leaving the RCN without a flagship (or any warships for that matter) which we intend to address at some point next year.

Despite the absence of a proper fleet, citizens employed within the navy have gone on to accomplish much, and many are important figures within our government. The RCN shall continue to be important to the DPROC and it's defence, and is still a formidable force with its capable Marine Corps.

The Dissolution of Tablestan

Four weeks ago, Tablestan became independent from the DPROC as we were no longer capable of ruling it as a Childarian Colony. I, Jakob Morris was president of Tablestan until it's independence.
Tablestan became independent and there was much celebration. However, the only thing I think ever stopped Tablestan's collapse was the firm structure was the Childarian Government, and only one (Tablestani) year later the country collapsed.
All it's former power and influence was lost as the citizens stopped voting and began to migrate to other tables. Tablestan had lasted 6 months, seen 3 wars and multiple rulers but ultimately it's own independence collapsed the nation and the influence of The Tablestani Empire was lost.
As a result of this we will be issuing a new Tablestani Service Medal to those involved and those who assisted with Tablestani politics.

THE WAR AGAINST THE CHILD OPPOSERS

Monday the 5th of June - 2017
War is declared on the PROC by the Child Opposers, their leader, Greer McCarthy famously quoting:
"The Child is bad - I shall kill it."
This results in the mobilisation of many RCAF units. The Child Opposers also mobilize their air force in preparation for battle.

Tuesday the 6th of June - 2017
Two RCAF aircraft on a reconnaissance mission are attacked and destroyed by the Child Opposers, an event that will be later known as the Takitimu skirmish. The PROC vows revenge.

Wednesday the 7th of June - 2017
One of the DPROC's three "Harrier" paper planes falls into enemy hands during a flight demonstration. It was taken for evaluation and was never seen again after the war. Presumably scrapped in December 2017.

Thursday the 8th of June - 2017
The 1st battle of Taradale is fought. Resulting in 2 RCAF aircraft lost and 3 Child Opposing aircraft shot down. Plans for Operation Vodka, the sabotage of the enemy aircraft in their hangars are laid down for the 9th of June. Doing the planning are the three of the main RCDF officials, Commander in chief Jakob Morris, Admiral Matthew Johnson and Thomas I. Despite his importance, Air Chief Marshal Nate Simes does not take part in the planning or operation.

Friday the 9th of June - 2017
Operation Vodka is put into action, successfully sabotaging 8 enemy aircraft. In response the Child Opposers attack with the remaining 5 aircraft. The RCAF fights back but looses 2 aircraft. However, the air force of the Child Opposers is shattered, losing 2 aircraft and forcing the remaining 2 to surrender. It is an obvious Childarian victory, for the Child Opposers have lost the ability to fight a war now that the PROC has complete aerial supremacy.

8 destroyed in operation Vodka

Greer McCarthy, leader of the Child Opposers surrenders to the PROC, therefore ending the war.

UTSR REBEL SURRENDERS

It is with great joy that I tell you that the UTSR Rebel has surrendered! At 10:58am today he announced his surrender to the DPROC, Tablestan and our allies.
Once again, the DPROC and Tablestan have triumphed over our enemies. As long as The Child watches over us we shall never lose!

THE DRPOC GOES BACK TO WAR

On Friday the 10th of May at 11:45am, War was once again declared on Tablestan. This time however is was by a self-elected ruler of the UTSR (United Tables of Solicialist Republics).
However, the rest of the UTSR did not support this and instead allied with Tablestan to destroy this Tyrant. Less than ten minutes after his declaration he was splattered with paint and dirty water.
Later at 12:27pm, the high Priest learnt of this and entered the war on the side of Tablestan.
The DPROC also tried to covince Spiderstan to enter the war on our side but they declined, having no way to attack the USTR rebels.
This is the third declaration of war our nation has made this year and hopefully the last. We shall win this war however, as we have more allies, more combat experience, better military organisation and The Child watching over us just to name a few.
This is another war I am confident of winning. More updates on this conflict will appear soon.

The Childarian Helicopter Squadron

I have decided that, to celebrate two years of The Child the RCAF will be reformed to the strength it was in 2017. A massively important but somewhat forgotten part of the RCAF was our squadron of paper helicopters that nearly made up most of our air force in that year.
Despite their important and once common status not a single one exists today, thanks to the Great Air Force Purge of December 2017 the entire squadron was destroyed save one. Unfortunately that helicopter was lost shortly afterwards and with no written records of the squadron it simply vanished from existence. Until now.
I have decided to recreate this lost squadron once more to remember it's forgotten glory and rebuild a historic part of the RCAF. Paper helicopters were among the first RCAF aircraft, and I refuse to let the type become extinct and forgotten!
Work on our Helicipter Squadron will begin as soon as blueprints are discovered, and I plan to have the squadron ready by VCO Day this year. Keep watching this blog for updates on this important topic!

Canard Production Restarted

For the first time in nearly two years, the production of the RCAF's most prominent paper aircraft has started again. Since May 2017 the Canard MK I has been the core fighter of the RCAF, and holds the title of the only fighter to be made by the DPROC in significant numbers.
Recently it was decided that, because of the retirement of our original Canards in June this year production of them would start again to re-arm our Canard Squadron.
The new Canards will be made using all the original methods and be given camouflage that matches their given roles in the RCAF.
As of VCO Day this year in June, our original Canards will join Aircraft 27 in retirement to make way for newer aircraft.

TABLESTAN'S UNEASY PEACE

I'm sorry that this is so late-notice, but I must inform you that nearly a month ago, on Wednesday the 10th of April I lost my position as king of Tablestan apon the formation of the new Tablestani Republic.
This is because during the Civil War, I promised that if I won power would be given back to the people and democracy restored.
Even though I lost the war, public pressure caused Jack Madden to abdicate, ending the conflict and restoring an uneasy peace to Tablestan.
Also, on the 3rd of April, Greer McCarthy of Rose kingdom withdrew her declaration of war - effectively ending the conflict before it started and handing victory to the DPROC.
Once again the DPROC has struggled through another period of conflict, but with The Child watching over us we could never be defeated!

SURRENDER OFFER REFUSED

Queen of Rose Kingdom, Greer McCarthy, has refused our offer for her unconditional surrender, instead replying:

Haha, the air force?

Be prepared for war because that's what is coming. This time I will be undefeated.

Because of this the DPROC shall have to try other means to end the war, but it is a shame that it couldn't be resolved though non-violent strategies.

THE DPROC DECLARES WAR ON THE TABLESTANI REBELS

This war seems like it may just be the largest our nation has fought in yet, as we have just declared war on the Tablestani rebel, ex-monarch and murderer of erasers: Jack Madden.
Through multiple court trials, debates and cunning political maneuvers I succeeded in leading a revolution against the current king of Tablestan - Jack Madden I. After this coup I crowned myself King of the Tablestani Empire and made it a puppet state of the DPROC.
Shortly after my coronation, on Monday the 1st of April, Madden declared war, triggering a civil war between the two halves of Tablestan.
Apon hearing of this declaration, Spider Lord Ciaran of Spiderstan openly pledged his support for the DPROC, saying that if we needed support Spiderstan would willingly assist the DPROC in this war.
Today the DPROC has gained another enemy, and a possible ally to help in this crisis.

ROSE KINGDOM GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO SURRENDER

Today, at 1224 hours a message was sent to Queen Greer McCarthy of Rose kingdom requesting her unconditional surrender to the DPROC. She has until Thursday the 4th of April to decide. If she agrees, the war shall end here, if she refuses, then our air force will be ready.

Aircraft Number 27 to be retired

It has recently been decided, considering its age and value, that aircraft 27 will be retired on the 30th of March this year.
Aircraft 27 has been in service with the RCAF since June 2017, and while not the oldest aircraft in the RCAF, it is the oldest type, and to valuable to have damaged.
Aircraft 27 is a standard paper dart, it was captured about two weeks after The War Against The Child Opposers ended, narrowly missing action. The camouflage scheme of Aircraft 27 is also peculiar, as it appears to be a mixture of old and new RCAF markings and camouflage.
After capture Aircraft 27 was placed into storage as a reserve. Then in November 2017 Aircraft 27 was reactivated for the Great Flower War. When the war ended it was put in storage again, and was one of the few aircraft that survived the Great Air Force Purge.
Aircraft 27 is a national treasure, and it has earned the right to retire. Our Canard squadron will also join it in retirement in June this year.

Today in History

Dozens of old RCAF paper aircraft are scrapped in the great air force purge. The RCAF loses all captured aircraft of the Child Opposers and its only helicopter squadron. All but one of the veteran fighter aircraft are scrapped. The Canard MK Is however are all kept.

DPROC War Flag

Recently a new war flag was designed for the RCA. It's colours are black, white and blue. The black representing the dark times that we will have to fight through in war.

Fortunately this flag has not yet been flown above the DPROC, and I hope it won't be for a long time.
